The Comox Valley Hockey League is a CVRD league that launched in the Fall of 2021 with 12 teams in one league. It has since grown to 26 teams across three tiers of play. This non-contact adult league is designed for intermediate and recreational players and puts a significant emphasis on safe and fun play. Games will have two referees, plus strict rules and discipline procedures aimed at addressing any issues and even removing problem players or teams. It also includes prizing for the most fun/ sportsmanlike teams, to keep the focus on staying active and having fun through sports for life. This league is a partnership between the CVRD, CVSSC and 19 Wing Comox to help make hockey more accessible and organized for local adults. We hope to see you on the ice!

The CVHL is open to players and teams from Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland and surrounding areas.

What	Ice Hockey – Max of 20 players on roster, including goalie(s). Players can only play for the team they’re rostered on. – Subs list available to all teams, including sub skater and goalie options. – The 2026/27 season will see 26 teams over three divisions of play. – Non-contact league with strict discipline rules, suspension procedures and an emphasis on safe and fun hockey. – Two referees and a scorekeeper organized for each game. – Online statistics and standings. – Good start times! Majority of games at Sports Centre. – Affordable, safe and fun hockey. – This league is ‘open’ coed, meaning there is no minimum numbers of each gender needed on the ice, but all are welcome. – Established CVHL teams get early renewal option. – This is a Comox Valley Regional District league. All payments will be directed to the CVRD.

	Three Tiers: – There will be three tiers of Intermediate Level Hockey in 2026/27. – There will be 26 teams. and those teams can move between tiers based on level of play. – A 25-game season. Runs mid-September to mid-March. – Games on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. (Plus additional games on Remembrance Day + Family Day.) – Teams play approx. one game per week. – Individuals registration opens April 15 to June 1. A new ‘singles’ team is formed out of these registrations each season. – Singles and Teams will be invoiced for payment by CVRD once spaces are confirmed.

Who	Anyone who wants to get out and have a good time. Players can sign up as singles, with some friends, or an entire team.
How Much	Comox Valley Hockey League: Individual Registration: $547/individual includes jersey ($100), CARHA insurance ($25) and tax. Players will be followed up with after the registration deadline with more information. All singles team payments are collected by the CVRD. Fees will be due to CVRD by July 9 (after invoicing), or a late fee will apply. Team Registration: $7,817/team for 25-game season, tax included. Teams will be charged by the CVRD on the following schedule: $1,000 deposit to hold team spot on May 11; Second fee payment of $5,112.75 on Aug. 4; Final fees payment of $1,704.25 on Sept. 14. (Team payment total comes to $7,81 and includes $475 for CARHA insurance, collected by the CVRD and submitted to CARHA to ensure each team is insured before the season.) Any team missing a payment deadline will have a late fee attached. New teams joining the waitlist will be followed up with after the registration deadline with next steps.
